The first Windows Phone 7 handsets have already made an appearance on the market in the United States, and they also hit shelves in Canada, via various wireless carriers in the country.

Among the smartphones that are now available for purchase in the country, we can count the LG Optimus Quantum, LG Optimus 7, HTC 7 Surround, or the Samsung Focus.

Starting in order, we should note that the LG Optimus Quantum is available for purchase at Bell Mobility with a price tag of $99.95 attached to it upon the signing of a three-year contract agreement with the wireless carrier.

If purchased without a contract agreement, the handset costs $449.95, but users can also choose various other term commitments, including two- and one-year contracts.

“The LG Optimus Quantum is the only Windows Phone 7 device with a full touch screen and slide-out keyboard. With Live Tiles on the Start screen, Games Hub and People Hub, the Quantum brings together what you care about most,” the wireless carrier notes.

While Bell put only this Windows Phone 7 device on sale today, wireless carrier TELUS got two of them, namely the LG Optimus 7 and HTC 7 Surround.

Both of them are available for $99.99 on three-year contracts, but their off contract price tags differ. The LG Optimus 7 was priced at $499.99, while the HTC 7 Surround goes for $449.99.

As for the Samsung Focus, it was made available for purchase in Canada via Roger, priced at $199.99 on a three-year contract, and at $599.99 without.

“Say hello to Windows Phone 7 with the Samsung Focus. Receive live updates from the dynamic Start Screen, enjoy mobile gaming with Xbox LIVE integration and manage your multimedia with Zune,” the wireless carrier notes on its website,

“If you need to stay productive, review and edit documents with Office. View all these features of Windows Phone 7 on the crisp 4" Super AMOLED screen,” it continues.

Additional details on the Windows Phone 7 offerings can be found here at Bell, here and Telus and here at Rogers.
