Redmond-based software maker Microsoft is moving closer to having the Windows Phone 7 operating system ready to be delivered to manufacturers, the latest reports around the Internet suggest. Among the things that are up and running on the platform, we can count the Games Hub, which is said to have already been completed, being capable of delivering the experience users are looking for on a mobile device.

According to Michael Klucher, in charge of Game Design and Development on Windows Phone, Xbox 360, and Windows in .NET, the Games Hub has been working for a while, but now things are final in this area. His Windows Phone 7 device is able to offer the gaming experience it should, with Xbox LIVE support and the rest. In other words, another step towards the final version of the platform has been completed, and it shouldn't be too long before other aspects of the OS are also announced as being finalized.

“It almost goes without saying that I’m so excited for the Windows Phone 7 release this holiday, and can’t wait for each of you to have the same experience I did of having the Xbox LIVE experience on the phone! We’re getting closer every day and it will be here before you know it. There’s a lot more to talk about from E3 this year, but for now I just had to share with you my excitement of seeing this working,” Klucher stated in a recent post on his blog.

Moreover, it seems that he is not the only one who sees the Windows Phone 7 OS as nearing completion. The core software is already complete, Slashgear notes in an article. Microsoft is still performing minor tweaks to software so as to make sure that the platform is compatible with as many devices as possible, but the heavy work is done. Since Windows Phone 7 is expected to RTM in the near future, info on the handset vendors set to use it on new devices should also emerge soon.
