The first Windows Phone 7 devices are expected to land on users hands on the European market one month from now, on October 21st, following an official announcement on the platform's launch on October 11th, a business paper in Germany states.

Whether this would be the case solely for the German market, or other European countries would get the first Windows Phone 7 handsets at the same time, is still unknown, but chances are that Microsoft would plan the release on more than just one market.

As for the official announcement on Windows Phone 7's landing, it should be made on October 11th during an event in New York, a recent post on e'sPhoneblog reads.

This is not the first time we learn that Microsoft is readying the release of its new mobile operating system for early October, and the rumors might pan out in the end.

After all, it has been one year since Microsoft brought to the market its latest platform flavor, Windows Mobile 6.5, which was followed by a minor OS update in early 2010, namely Windows Mobile 6.5.3.

Microsoft has been putting things in order lately, presumably gearing up for the near launch date.

The Windows Phone Developer Tools were released a few days ago in a final flavor, following the release to manufacturing of the Windows Phone 7 OS itself.

Basically, all that remains to be done at this point is for phone makers to integrate the OS in with their hardware solutions, and to add into the mix any proprietary software they might want to add.

Of course, there is also the question regarding the software solutions available for the platform, either at launch and soon after, for it does need a strong support from the developer community, that's for sure.

For what it's worth, thing seem to be shaping up pretty well in this direction too, at least this is what some of the latest demos from Microsoft showed.

One such demonstration is available below, in the form of a video preview of a Twitter client for Windows Phone 7, a necessary solution, since the OS won't come with Twitter integration right from the start, it seems.
