Windows Phone 7 is the latest mobile operating system on which the Kik Messenger landed, and it already proved to be one of the most successful releases for the mobile application and service.

When made available, the application was said to be the best messenger developed for Windows Phone, and it seems that things indeed proved so.

The experience that Windows Phone users received from it was so impressive that they decided to bring their friends and family to the service as well.

The result was an impressive growth in usage on the Kik Messenger's network, clearly visible after the application's release on Windows Phone.

However, the growth was not experienced based exclusively on Microsoft's Windows Phone platform, and users should know that.

According to the company, Windows Phone users brought to Kik Messenger an increasing number of more users on Android and iOS, which increased the overall user base for the messenger.

For every Windows Phone user that joined Kik, new 1.5 Android and iOS users joined too, creating some sort of a halo effect.

Overall, each and every Windows Phone user new to Kik Messenger helped the service gain 2.5 users, as explained in the second image attached to this article.

Following the launch on Windows Phone on June 28, 2011, the platform enjoyed a 22 percent bonus growth, it seems.

At the moment, Windows Phone enjoys a very small portion of the market, though some suggest that it should increase significantly in the coming years.

“Windows Phone users may be a small segment of the whole, but they bring with them all their friends on other mobile platforms, creating a huge and unanticipated spike in Kik activity,” Kik Interactive's CEO Ted Livingston explains, according to TechCrunch.

He also noted that other applications and services might experience similar growth when arriving on Windows Phone. “It’s time for cross-platform apps to start paying attention to Windows Phone 7,” Ted Livingston continues.
