Redmond-based software giant Microsoft is moving closely to having the new Windows Phone 7 operating system delivered to manufacturers, and it seems that the platform is almost complete. With the official release on the market of the first handsets powered by it set for the fourth quarter of the ongoing year, things are certainly moving in the right direction at the moment, and a video that presents the features of Windows Phone 7, published online a few days ago, seems set to prove just that.

We already had the chance to have a look at various promo videos with Microsoft's new mobile operating system, and the new one might seem about the same as the previous ones. However, it's worth noticing that it is set to present all of the features Windows Phone 7 should arrive on the market with, and that it gets us in a pleasant journey around the hubs on the platform.

“Go ahead and stare the user interface of the Windows Phone 7 deserves it. That's the reaction we got at Mobile World Conference in Barcelona when we revealed this new holistic design system that brings together form and function based on key principles - informing every aspect of the phone. See what everyone is talking about by checking out this video,” the comment accompanying the video reads.

As stated above, Microsoft was said to be in the phase of applying the final touches to Windows Phone 7 before releasing it to manufacturers. Moreover, the company seems set to ramp up the building of applications for the operating system, so as to have at least a couple of software solutions available for users when the first devices arrive on shelves. Windows Phone 7 developers should receive devices starting with the next month, the company has recently announced.

All in all, it remains to be seen how Windows Phone 7 will be able to perform when officially available on the market. As the video embedded below shows, things look great, yet the experience users receive most often differs a lot from what promo materials show. Hopefully, it will live up to expectations, proving that Microsoft's mobile solution can still be a competitive product on the market.
