Redmond-based software giant Microsoft is nearing the launch of a new mobile operating system, namely Windows Phone 7, which should mark the revival of the company on the smartphone market, and some new info on the platform emerged.

Among these details, we can count the fact that the upcoming mobile operating system would come with Messenger and MSN Apps, in addition to delivering enhanced support for social networking sites.

Oded Ran, Microsoft UK’s head of marketing for Windows Phone 7 is the one to confirm this info during a recent event, an article on My Microsoft Life notes.

According to the news site, in addition to the Messenger app that Microsoft plans for the Windows Phone 7 OS, there will be third party apps too.

However, it still remains to be seen what these apps will be all about, as well as whether they would come with integration into hubs or not.

It appears that Microsoft was hard at work with the Facebook integration on Windows Phone 7, which should appeal a lot to those who are fond of staying in touch with friends and family over the social media destination.

One thing that Microsoft did not show at the said event was the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace, which should go live as soon as the first handsets land on shelves.

However, the software giant did unveil the fact that major companies would have their applications included in the Marketplace, and that things still have to be made official on this area.

Other interesting details on the new Windows Phone 7 platform have been unveiled as well, such as the fact that all handsets would sport wireless sync via the Zune software.

As for this PC application, it should ship along with Windows Phone 7, and not before the OS is released.

The official announcement regarding the release of the new mobile OS is expected to arrive in less than two weeks from now, and more on this should emerge at that time.
