Canadian mobile phone carrier TELUS should put in place for its users a new promotion for its customers interested in the purchase of a Windows Phone 7 device, namely a free Xbox 360.

The company is rumored to plan making the said promo available again for its customers, and should include both the HTC 7 Surround and the LG Optimus 7 available for purchase now on its airwaves.

The new promo would kick off today, and should run through March 20th. Those users who would activate or renew a Windows Phone 7 device would have the chance to enjoy the deal.

However, it seems that the promotion would be available only for those customers in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island.

According to a recent article on MobileSyrup, a leaked document they received shows the following info on the said deal:

- The Xbox 360 (4GB version) has a retail value of $199 and comes with one wireless controller - The promotion will be available in all Dealer and TELUS Corporate store locations, as well as on www.telusmobility.com. This offer is not available through: National retailers and direct fulfillment - All clients who activate/renew a Windows Phone 7 device during the promotion period will be eligible for an Xbox - The Xbox units will be shipped directly to the client - Xbox consoles should start shipping on March 16

Undoubtedly, the deal sounds pretty appealing, although it would also require the signing of a new contract agreement with the wireless carrier, as these deals usually do.

No official confirmation on the matter emerged for the time being, but, in case the rumor pans out, all the necessary details will be made official as soon as today.

For those who might have not encountered the Windows Phone 7 operating system before, we should note that it was released in Canada in November last year, and that it offers a brand new approach to mobile devices.

Content is displayed on the handset's homescreen in live tiles, so that users can stay up to date at a glance. It comes with Facebook, Windows Live and Outlook integration, as well as with support for services like Zune or Xbox LIVE.
