The long expected Windows Phone 7.8 update should arrive in the near future on the Lumia 900 smartphone at AT&T as the platform has been already spotted on Nokia’s servers, it seems.

While no specific release date has been officially provided as of now, WPCentral suggests that the previously rumored January 31 availability of the upgrade could pan out in the end.

The Windows Phone 7.8 update was seen on Nokia’s servers as build 8858, which reportedly suggests that the official software is indeed close to landing on devices.

Microsoft is expected to push the new OS flavor to all existing Windows Phone 7.5 devices out there starting with the end of this month, which means that both Lumia 900 and other similar handsets available on AT&T’s network will receive it soon. Stay tuned for more on this.
