Today, Microsoft officially announced that students can once again benefit from special offers when it comes to the purchase of new PCs.

Through this promotion, the Redmond-based software company provides students with the possibility to get a free Xbox 360 4GB console upon the acquisition of a qualifying Windows 7-based computer.

The new offer will become available for all students and will be kept for as long as supplies last, the company announced.

Microsoft plans on kicking off the promotion on May 20th at participating retailers in the United States. Moreover, a similar offer will debut today, May 18th, at partner retailers in Canada. Depending on the participant retailer, terms and conditions of the promotion may vary.

“Together, a Windows 7-based PC and an Xbox 360 console provide students the functionality they need for school while also helping them stay connected to friends and family far away,” Microsoft notes.

“To take advantage of this offer, students or their parents must provide valid student identification as defined by the participating retailer.”

The company also notes that “participating retailers may change over the course of the promotion, but will include Best Buy, Fry’s Electronics, Dell.com, HPDirect.com, Microsoft Stores and NewEgg.com in the U.S., and Best Buy, Dell.ca, Future Shop, Staples and The Source in Canada.”

The promotion will include a wide range of PCs running under the Windows 7 platform. Computers differ in styles, sizes and colors and include light options such as the Dell XPS 13, HP ENVY15 and Samsung Series 5 ULTRA.

These machines also have to offer high-definition displays, as well as fast boot times and increased lightweight for optimized mobility.

“With an Xbox 360 console, students can have fun gaming while also enjoying a range of entertainment options, including streaming videos, sports, music and more,” the company notes.

Customers interested in learning additional info on the new offer should head over to the participating retailers for inquiries.
