Seems like everyone will be having their cake and eating it too...

Not that long ago, it seemed like dual booting Windows XP on Mac was not going to happen any time soon, if at all. Then, all of a sudden, over the course of a few days, dual booting became a reality, and everybody that needed it could do it. At that point the crown for whom dual boot was not enough, or totally inappropriate started waiting for the next step. It seems that it has arrived.

Parallels, a company that specializes in virtualization software has said that it will be announcing a virtualization product for Intel based Macs later this week.

"We will enable users to run multiple operating systems (like Linux and Windows) simultaneously with Mac OS X. This is not simply a 'dual-boot' but instead gives our users the ability to use Windows or any other operating system at the same time as Mac OS X, enabling users to enjoy the comfort of their Mac OS X desktop while still being able to use critical applications from other Oses," said company spokesman Ben Rudolph.

While this same functionality is rumored to be included in the next release of OS X, named Leopard, that is still quite some time away, even if the functionality were a fact, stated by Apple, and not a rumor. Without a doubt, there are many users out there who would benefit from this software, and the sooner the better.
