Windows Vista is released and all the guys out there owning a Windows Mobile enabled handset were on their way towards total insanity because the old Windows Mobile Center is not compatible with the new Microsoft OS. Don't worry people!

Microsoft is taking care of everybody and, besides launching their "revolutionary" OS (the quotation marks are there not because I doubt what they are saying but because I haven't tested their OS yet), they also released the new version of Windows Mobile Center Final, the one that goes along with Vista if you don't know what I'm talking about here :).

The freshly released Windows Mobile Device Center is the latest Active Sync software developed by Microsoft and will enable data synchronization between the Windows Mobile enabled devices you have and the Windows Vista operating system.

The new synchronization software released by Microsoft has replaced the old Active Sync you were used to and, being developed especially for the Vista OS, it integrates much better into the operating system interface.

The Windows Mobile Device Center also adds in a lot more functionalities than Active Sync ever did before, so you should be a lot happier being a user of Windows Mobile enabled device with Vista being your desktop OS of choice.

The software's feature list includes a more streamlined setup, an enhanced user interface, photo management, file browsing, robust synchronization and media synchronization.

The Windows Mobile Device Center is compatible with any smartphones running Windows Mobile 2003 or later and the supported desktop operating systems are: Windows Vista, Windows Vista Business, Windows Vista Business N, Windows Vista Enterprise, Windows Home Basic, Windows Vista Home Basic N, Windows Vista Premium, Windows Vista Starter, Windows Vista Starter N and, of course, Windows Vista Ultimate.

The new synchronization software is available for both the x86 and x64 Vista platforms and can be downloaded from Microsoft's website.
