14 DAY TRIAL // Just as it is the case with Windows 7, the latest iteration of the Windows platform for mobile phones will also enjoy a global launch come October 6th, 2009. For the European market, Microsoft has partnered with LG and Vodafone in order to introduce Windows Mobile 6.5 on LG GM750, in just a few days over a month. The Redmond company indicated that the GM750 and Windows Mobile 6.5 bundle was the end-result of the collaborative efforts made together with LG to ensure a seamless experience for users.
“Vodafone, LG and Microsoft share a focus on delivering great customer experiences, and the LG GM750 is [a] powerful example of how customers benefit when industry leaders rally around a common goal,” Todd Peters, corporate vice president, Microsoft, explained. “This new Windows phone benefits from our work with LG to deeply integrate the phone’s software and hardware as well as our continued work with Vodafone to make Windows phones broadly available on Vodafone’s high-speed network.”
On October 6th, the LG GM750 will be made available in no less than seven countries across Europe. Plans are already in motion to offer the phone on additional markets, but neither of the three companies involved wishes to make them public at this point in time. But, early next month, customers in Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, the UK and France (via SFR) will be able to get their hands on the LG GM750 and the successor of Windows Mobile 6.1.

The LG GM750 with Windows Mobile 6.5 fits perfectly into Microsoft’s vision of its mobile platform, which the company is advertising as tailored to both work and play. In this regard, the phone comes equipped with built-in GPS navigation capabilities, and supports the Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync email protocol. At the same time, the device offers users a 5-megapixel camera, seamless integration with Windows Live, Windows Marketplace for Mobile and My Phone, as well as a touch-based UI taking advantage of the 3-inch screen.
