The latest Windows Mobile 6.5 interim version that made it into the wild recently is Build 23053, which follows the recently leaked Build 23052, as well as the long list of its predecessors. We've already grown accustomed with seeing new builds of the Windows Mobile 6.5 (which are part of the 6.5.1 branch) emerging into the wild, and we should take a look at this one too.

According to the news on the web, the new build features a series of stability improvements and some speed enhancements, yet it looks about the same as said Build 23052. Even so, when compared to other previous builds, the new iteration seems to sports various changes, at least this is what Redmond Pie shows by placing the new build side by side with the older Build 23047.

The changes from one build to another include: - The magnified status (or notifications) bar gets new icons and it works from all places of the menu, unlike before when it was only accessible from the homescreen. - New dropdown arrows on listboxes. - Checkboxes fixed. - Better integration with Manila 2.6 (HTC TouchFlo3D) from the upcoming HTC Leo (aka HD2). - Improved battery life. - Numerous other bug fixes.

A series of screenshots with the new Windows Mobile 6.5 Build 23053 are also available at the end of this article for your viewing pleasure, and we also learn that cooked ROMs for a series of handsets also emerged, and the list should include: HTC Touch HD, HTC Touch Pro, HTC Touch Pro2, HTC Touch Diamond, HTC Kaiser, Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 and Samsung Omnia i900.

In related news, we hear that Windows Mobile 6.5 might come around with a new feature for Windows phone users, one that would allow them to add a group text or email group. The feature emerged in Build 23412, FuzeMobility says, and enables people to select multiple contacts to add them to a group. At the same time, one will also be able to see which contacts are in the group when an email is sent, as the option will insert each contact individually into the mailing list.
