With only a few enhancements, it looks slower

The long list of leaked Windows Mobile 6.5.x builds has now added a new item, namely Build 28205, which is reportedly part of the WM 6.5.3(.3) branch. Those of you who watch the development of Microsoft's mobile operating system should know already that the leaked builds series started with flavors of the 6.5.1 version of the platform, and that WM 6.5.3 is the latest iteration of the client.

At the same time, you might already know that Windows Mobile 6.5.3 has made an official appearance on MSDN not too long ago, where it is mentioned in a Widgets documentation page for the operating system. The new flavor of the platform comes around with a series of touch enhancements when compared to the WinMo 6.5 version that arrived on the market in October, and supposedly shows that Microsoft is aiming at releasing yet another flavor of the OS before WM 7 arrives here.

The new Windows Mobile 6.5.3(.3) Build 28205 has made an appearance over at the XDA-Developers forums, and is said to come around with only a few changes when compared to the latest previously leaked build, 28014. However, WMPoweruser notes that the Internet Explorer in the new build seems to be a little faster, though there are some downsides too, including great memory usage and slow loading.

The new Build 28205 of Windows Mobile 6.5.3 is also said to sport updated standard controls, and that the checkboxes are somehow colored, and not plain black as they used to be, though nothing seems to have been impressively improved overall. However, since this is only an interim build, more striking enhancements are probably being prepared for future releases.

Those who would like to learn additional details on the new Windows Mobile 6.5.3 build and on the improvements that come around with it should head over to the XDA-Developers forums here for that. Cooked ROMs for various handsets available on the market should also emerge, yet those who are not familiar with the installation process should stay away from them.
