Anti-phishing technology activation is the next step in the evolution of Windows Live OneCare. The Windows Live OneCare Team has revealed additional functionality to the anti-virus product and
service. In this regard, the anti-phishing technology activation introduced into OneCare aims to further bulletproof users against online phishing scams.

One of the crucial aspects of the face-off between Mozilla Firefox 2.0 and Internet Explorer 7 is the integrated anti-phishing technology of the respective browsers. Both Mozilla and Microsoft have contracted studies of the performances of the anti-phishing capabilities of the two browsers and neither of the results can settle the despite over which product is delivering the most protection.

"OneCare will now assist with the activation of phishing protection with IE7's Microsoft Phishing Filter. Microsoft Phishing Filter helps protect people from sharing personal information with bogus websites by warning customers when a site looks suspicious, and blocks people from unwittingly sharing personal information with known, reported phishing sites," stated the Windows Live OneCare Team.

This means that Windows Live OneCare with Anti-phishing Technology Activation will prompt the users to turn on their Phishing Filter in internet Explorer 7. "OneCare will help ensure Microsoft Phishing Filter automatically monitors suspicious sites as you're browsing to help keep you and your family protected against phishing scams," concluded the Windows Live OneCare Team.
