Are you looking for a way to add the security of Windows Live to your own applications? Then look no further, because Microsoft has announced that Windows Live ID Client 1.0 SDK Alpha is
available for download. In the end, the Windows Live ID Client 1.0 SDK is designed to deliver a managed API for Windows Live sign-in authentication. Microsoft has included the source code with the alpha release in order to allow users to construct their own client applications.

Via the Windows Live ID Client 1.0 SDK Alpha, users will be able to sign in to your application via the Windows Live-designed authentication interface, and have their sign-in information available by saving the user name and password.

"From within the sample application, users can create a blog that is automatically posted on their Windows Live Space. The application will launch an Internet browser, and users are automatically signed in to their Windows Live Space," revealed a member of the Windows Live ID Team.

By implementing Windows Live ID Client 1.0 SDK Alpha, users will have Windows Live ID authentication service manage the authentication process. Additionally, Windows Live ID Client 1.0 SDK Alpha delivers the same user name/password cache functionality as Windows Live Messenger, storing and retrieving user account information for additional uses.

"Forget about creating, storing, and maintaining user accounts! The Windows Live ID service hosts and manages the Web flows and account services to enable account sign up, credential viewing and updating, and profile management. Gain hundreds of millions of potential users of your application! By enabling Windows Live accounts direct sign in to your application, anyone with a Windows Live ID can become a user of your product," added the Windows Live ID Team member.
