As of yesterday, Microsoft has announced that it has debuted rolling out M10 (milestone 10) of Windows Live Hotmail beta, formerly Windows Live Mail. The new beta build is designed to deliver
additional control in the hands of the end-users, and in the end, a service that is perceived as an upgrade to Hotmail. Richard Sim, Microsoft Senior Product Manager revealed that the new milestone 10 build of Windows Live Hotmail will be rolled out to the beta participants over the coming weeks.
"As you may know, we built two different views into Windows Live Hotmail: the classic version which looks and feels pretty much like MSN Hotmail (but better), and the full version which has many whiz bang features such as the reading pane, drag and drop, keyboard shortcuts, etc. Both versions are super fast, very safe, and of course simple to use," Sim explained.
With M10, Microsoft has focused on end-user control and is introducing a range of customization options that will enable users to personalize the inbox or the reading pane style. Furthermore, users have the option to choose between the two design options, classic versus the full version of Hotmail. Sim has explained that the classic version has been designed in accordance with the needs of users with slow Internet connections, while the full version is addressed at broadband connections.
The first change that users are going to notice is on the surface as this is the first beta version that is officially Windows Live Hotmail. Sim additionally informed that the Microsoft has focused on delivering extra speed and reliability with the M10.
