Although there have been various reports and speculations that Microsoft will present Windows Live Drive at the 2007 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Jan. 8-11, it turns
out that this will not be the case.
In the 2007 CES guide book, Microsoft introduced an advertisement that you can see featured in the adjacent image. If you have been reading reports about the Windows Live Drive right here on Softpedia, you have already been able to read about the two alternatives that could have been advertised with the
"All together now" formula. One of them was Live Drive, the other Windows Home Server, code-named Quattro.
Well, Windows Live Drive will be absent from the 2007 International Consumer Electronics Show, but Windows Home Server will not, as it is the product that Microsoft referred to with the "All together now." Click
here in order to read additional details about the Windows Live Server.
Microsoft has denied that Windows Live drive will be among the subjects of the conferences presented at CES 2007.
Mary Jo Foley obtained an exclusive comment from a Microsoft representative regarding Live Drive: "There won't be any Live Drive meetings. They (the Live team) are already making major investments in roaming scenarios with their services, as well as search and sharing scenarios across PCs and devices with things like Sharing Folders in Windows Live Messenger and folder sharing and sync with our acquisition of FolderShare. They'll continue to invest in services that enable anywhere, anytime access and Live Drive is the codename for a project in this space. But they have no other details at this point."
