Microsoft continues to consolidate Windows Live as a nucleus designed to streamline user activity sharing actions across otherwise disparate web services. The company has hesitated little to embrace a growing list of web partners, inking a multitude of partnerships, and placing Windows Live at the center of an expanding range of popular web properties. Starting on September 14th, 2007, the software giant announced that it had partnered with no less than an additional 27 web companies, in order to deliver more updates and contacts to users of the Windows Live network.

“We know that you have a busy life online, with multiple accounts on separate websites for sharing different things in many different contexts – from blog posts to status updates to photos, and more. That’s why we keep adding more feed and contacts partners to Windows Live – so that you have one place to visit to see what your friends are up to, and one easy way of sharing updates with your network,” revealed a member of the Windows Live team.

This week alone, Microsoft will be rolling out 23 new feed partners. Following the update, Windows Live users will be able to take advantage of updates coming from Blingee, BuddyTV, Goodreads, Hulu, Judy’s Book, MySpace, Newsvine, OleOle, Qik and SlideShare. With the extra feed partners, Windows Live users now have available an expanding list of online destinations available. Through the feed partners introduced on September 14th, Microsoft is opening up new websites to Windows Live users, spanning across a variety of areas, including: blogging, music and video, photo, news, reviews, portals and social networks.

The advantages of contact partners are visible when it comes down to managing the same list of contacts across various, otherwise disparate websites. Windows Live now plays nice with contacts from AOL, Google and Hyves, in addition to previous partners Facebook, hi5, LinkedIn and MySpace. Windows Live users are now able to share but also exchange contacts between Windows Live and all social networks that have partnered with Microsoft. In total, Windows Live users have at their disposal over 50 global and regional web companies.

“By providing you the option to bring in your contacts from different networks, Windows Live makes it simple for you to manage your contact lists from one place by consolidating them on Windows Live,” the Windows Live team member added.
