Microsoft is offering customers the possibility to download documentation associated with its incompatibility panacea tool for the Windows operating system. The Microsoft Enterprise Desktop Virtualization (MED-V version 1) Planning, Deployment and Operations Guide is currently up for grabs on the Download Center, offered to companies that have deployed, or are planning to embrace the evolution of the desktop virtualization technology from Kidaro.

The resources are designed to guide customers through various tasks associated with adopting Microsoft Enterprise Desktop Virtualization, including the planning, installation, configuration, testing, the deployment and actually running virtualized servers and clients in an IT environment.

“Ever since the release of MED-V, customers have been asking for a way to download the MED-V documentation. We have heard you, we’ve listened and the documentation is now available! To download the latest documentation see the Microsoft Enterprise Desktop Virtualization (MED-V version 1) Planning, Deployment and Operations Guide on the Microsoft download site,” revealed Microsoft's Eila Arich-Landkof.

In mid-January 2009, the software giant released version 1.0 of Enterprise Desktop Virtualization. MED-V is the sixth product to be added to the Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack, a collection of solution accelerators designed to catalyze the adoption of the latest technologies from the Redmond-based company, including Windows platforms. The standalone documentation offered by Microsoft contains the user guide for MED-V 1.0.

“MED-V uses Microsoft Virtual PC to provide an enterprise solution for desktop virtualization. With MED-V, you can easily create, deliver and manage corporate Virtual PC images on any Windows-based desktop. MED-V is an integral component of the Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack, a dynamic solution available to Software Assurance customers, which helps reduce application deployment costs, enables delivery of applications as services, and helps to better manage and control enterprise desktop environments,” Arich-Landkof added.   Microsoft Enterprise Desktop Virtualization V1 Beta is available for download here.
