If extra storage, automatic backup, and holiday gifts are concepts that go hand in hand for you, then Microsoft has a great lineup of products that fit the description above. At the start of this week, the Redmond company announced a number of special promotions with Windows Home Server at the core. In this regard, the software giant partnered with three original equipment manufacturers that produce the hardware to go along with Windows Home Server.

“Happy Holidays from Windows Home Server!! In celebration of “Cyber Monday” and the holiday season, we figured it was the perfect time to tell you all about all of the fantastic Windows Home Server discounts that are being offered. Windows Home Server has teamed up with Acer, HP, and our newest OEM, ASUS, to provide some of the lowest prices we have ever seen for Windows Home Server,” revealed Nicole Berett, from the Windows Home Server team.

Customers were, for a brief period of time able to buy a 1 TB Acer EasyStore Home Server for just $299, but this promotion is now over. However, users can still grab a 500GB ASUS TS Mini Server for just $299 from Amazon.com or Newegg.com. At the same time, HP EX490 1TB version for $469 is available from Newegg.com or Amazon.com while supplies last. And HP LX195 640GB Home Server is only $199 on Amazon.com, also while supplies last.

“These Home Servers have been selling out fast so don’t miss your opportunity to give the ultimate gift this holiday season,” Berett added. The past month, Microsoft released the third service pack for Windows Home Server, the equivalent of a major service pack-level upgrade for client and server Windows platforms. Windows Home Server PP3 is also available as a standalone download for users that will want to build their own home servers.
