Adam

Microsoft's reportedly $300 million Windows campaign is moving forward steadfast. The latest ingredient in the video advertisements recipe focused on the Windows Live component of Windows is the cute factor, a tactic for which the Redmond company has turned to children, where "cute" is indeed in abundance. The latest video ad features the "I'm eight years old" phrase just after the "I'm a PC" trademark and involves Adam, who, as you might have guessed it, is eight. And also a Windows Vista user with an uncanny ability to make slideshows, as you will be able to see in the video embedded at the bottom of this article.

"Adam is 8 years old and fresh to Windows Live Photo Gallery. He's a rookie. In no time at all, he puts together a slide show of his animal toy collection. It's that easy," Microsoft revealed. Adam follows in the footsteps of Kylie, age 4 and a half, and Alexa, age 7, who also played around with Windows Live Photo Gallery in previous advertisements, in order to show just how easy it was. Adam of course, helps drive home the idea that the Windows operating system in combination with Cloud components such as Windows Live Photo Gallery, and Windows Movie Maker are capable of providing simplification to the end users' digital lives.

Microsoft has given the Rookies a privileged position in its Windows campaign, featuring some of them both by themselves in ads, but also in a battle of generations, namely Alexa and Adam. In the end, the Redmond company's purpose is to break down the stereotypes associated with Apple's "I'm a PC" vs. "I'm a Mac" perspective. And what is less stereotypical than a 4-year-old editing a photo with Windows Live Photo Gallery and subsequently emailing it to her parents? Well, nothing, to be fair.
