Over the weekend, Windows Firewall Control received a fresh update, to build 4.0.2.8. It integrates a new menu item and an updated set of command-line parameters as well as a couple of repairs.

The current revision includes “Reset sorting” option in the data grid context menu for managing rules; the purpose is to restore all sorting settings to the default configuration.

The list of supported command parameters has been updated and now it includes options for clearing user settings (“-r” or “-reset”), launching the Control Panel (“-cp”) or the Manage Rules window (“-mr”).

Among the fixes addressed by the developer, there is the one causing the Manage Rules screen to fail to restore correctly to the last known state, when closed in maximized state.

On the same note, Windows Firewall Control 4.0.2.8 has updated the validation rules for IPv6 addresses.
