A minor upgrade for Windows Firewall Control has been released implementing a couple of fixes and bringing to the table an update for the program’s logging entries as new information is now added for debugging purposes.

Revision 4.0.1.2 repairs the issue with System.IO.FileNotFoundException that appeared in the application’s log even if no problem was recorded. The glitch occurred when Windows Firewall Control started and no temporary rules would be found.

The second problem solved with this revision refers to the Installation ID, which would be empty on machines that had the first partition hidden. The effect of this behavior would be preventing the activation of the program.

Windows Firewall Control is not a firewall per se. It is a utility that extends the functionality of the default firewall in Windows by allowing quick access to frequently used options.
