Windows Firewall Control has increased the build number recently, to 3.7.0.4. Despite being a minor build, it introduces something new and also repairs various issues detected in previous revisions.
Starting this version, you can launch the application from the Run menu in Windows (Win+R), by typing in “wfc”.
The problems solved in this release include the one with the profile slider not recognizing the new profile when set to High Filtering and the application window was re-opened. On the same note, the uninstaller can now remove “wfc.exe” file, if the app is installed in the default suggested folder.
Additional fixing relates to the update checking mechanism for unregistered users, which did not work in the previous builds.
Starting this version, the installer will copy the file wfc.exe in the installation folder instead of moving it.
