Microsoft has released a number of Cumulative Product Update Rollup Packages for three releases of Windows Embedded.

The refresh packages are offered through the Microsoft Download Center and are available free of charge.

There are a total of three Update Rollup Packages which customers can download, depending on which flavor of Windows Embedded they’re running.

“- Windows Embedded CE 6.0 Cumulative Product Update Rollup Package (through 12/31/2010) (available here) - This is a full set of updates for Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3. This rollup contains all updates released for Windows Embedded CE 6.0 up through 12/31/2010.

- Windows CE 5.0 Cumulative Product Update Rollup Package (through 12/31/2010) (available here) - This is a full set of updates for Windows CE 5.0. This rollup contains all updates released for Windows CE 5.0 up through 12/31/2010.

- Windows Embedded NavReady - Cumulative Product Update Rollup Package (through 12/31/2010) (available here) - This is a full set of updates for Windows Embedded NavReady. This rollup contains all updates released for Windows Embedded NavReady up through 12/31/2010.”

Each update package comes with its own Readme delivering additional information to customers.

Windows CE 5.0 and Windows Embedded CE 6.0 Product Update Rollups are designed for devices powered by a variety of processors including: Armv4I, MIPSII, MIPSII-FP, MIPSIV, MIPSIV-FP, SH4, and X86-based CPUs.

The Windows Embedded NavReady Product Update Rollup is only tailored to Armv4I processors, hence, a single refresh is offered by the software giant.

All the Readme files contain detailed lists of all the changes introduced by the updates to their respective Windows Embedded operating systems.

In addition, the Redmond company is also providing guidance designed to help customers simplify deployment, as well as identify and troubleshoot any issues they might come across when installing the refreshes.
