Another month, and customers can download a fresh update to the training kit that Microsoft offers for its Cloud platform.

As usual, the content is available through the Microsoft Download Center, free of charge, regardless of its growing size.

The latest refresh, Windows Azure Platform Training Kit - November 2011 Update, went live on November 14, 2011, according to the software giant.

The Redmond company is offering two download options, one through the Web Installer and the other, a standalone release.

As the name implies, the kit is in fact a collection of resources designed to provide customers with insight into how to use Windows Azure.

“Windows Azure Platform Training Kit—Includes hands-on labs, demos, and presentations to help you learn how to build applications that use Windows Azure. Compatible with the new Windows Azure SDK and Windows Azure Tools for Visual Studio 2010,” revealed Himanshu Singh, senior product manager on the Windows Azure Marketing team.

The Windows Azure Platform Training Kit has been available for download for quite some time, and Microsoft is updating the resources provided on a monthly basis.

It’s a very good idea to keep an eye on the evolution of the kit, since fresh content is delivered in tandem with other Windows Azure tools and resources, in this particular case, the release of Windows Azure HPC Scheduler SDK and the Windows Azure SDK (November 2011).

According to the Redmond company, the “November 2011 update of the training kit includes the following updates: [New demo] Publishing Cloud Applications with Visual Studio; [Updated] Labs and Demos to leverage the new Window Azure SDK & Tools 1.6; [Updated] SQL Azure Presentations; and several minor fixes in content.”

It’s extremely easy for customers to extract the contents of the kit and have them at their disposal on a local machine, since Microsoft is offering a self-extracting executable.
