Microsoft should really have a look at this new Windows 9 concept

It’s pretty clear that users expect a major visual revamp in Windows 9 and the plethora of concepts that reach the web these days are living proof that Microsoft must bring us improvements for both the desktop and the controversial touch screen.

This concept created by Martin Androvich already does this and turns Microsoft’s modern platform into a beautiful operating system that can be easily used on both desktop computers and tablets, while also addressing complaints over the lack of a Start Menu for example.

The design really looks gorgeous and comes with a Start Menu that comprises system actions, notifications, pinned apps, recently-accessed items and a search box, pretty much like the traditional menu we’ve found in Windows 7, but with a more modern look.

At the same time, the Start screen goes for a flatter look with revamped tiles which not only that look more appealing than Microsoft’s colorful design, but also seem to be easier to find and manage, as they’re less cluttered and present real-time information in a cleaner way.

File Explorer has also been redesigned with new icons and new fonts, but the classic look still serves as the foundation for this modern interpretation.

As for the real version of Windows 9, we’re pretty sure that Microsoft won’t go for such a dramatic change of design, but users hope that this particular OS version would actually comprise several important updates, including a Start Menu and options to run Metro apps on the desktop.

Word is that Microsoft plans to launch Windows 9 in early 2015, but more information on this new project is expected to be unveiled in April at the BUILD 2014 developer conference.

Work on Windows 9 is also expected to start in April, as Microsoft apparently believes that one year should be enough to complete the development process and bring a full new operating system to the market.
