Windows 9 is currently a work in progress at Microsoft, but the company is yet to publicly comment on this particular project.

And still, designers are now trying to create concepts to show the world what the new OS version should look like, with many turning to a mix of the desktop and the Modern UI.

DeviantArt user RMNSkin has posted a new Windows 9 concept that makes the desktop a lot more beautiful with the help of a redesigned taskbar, new icons and fresh System Tray icons.

The desktop seems to borrow lockscreen elements and now displays the time, the date, and the upcoming appointments, as well as a weather gadget showing the current weather conditions in a configured location.

As far as Windows 9 is concerned, some people say that the OS is very likely to see daylight in late 2014, while others expect it to be launched in the first months of 2015.
