Windows 9 is the operating system that’s supposed to bring some major visual improvements to Microsoft’s modern platform, including an enhanced desktop that should make the entire platform more appropriate for the traditional PC.

Markus McNugen, one of the designers who already created several Windows 9 concepts, has this time imagined the upcoming desktop in a new interpretation based on a rather appealing simplicity.

There are only minor differences as compared to the existing desktop, including new flat icons and a reworked system tray area, so many users might actually feel the need for even more changes.

As far as Windows 9 is concerned, people familiar with the matter said that it could be released in early 2015 and bring quite a lot of changes, including a new Start Menu and even the possibility to run Modern apps in their very own windows on the desktop.
