Just like Microsoft, Adobe released patches for its software this morning, rolling out a new version of the Flash Player that comes to fix some important vulnerabilities found in older builds.

Since Microsoft pledged to deliver Flash Player updates all by itself to adopters of its modern operating systems, both Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 got the new version today via Windows Update.

“This update addresses the vulnerabilities in Adobe Flash Player by updating the affected Adobe Flash binaries contained within Internet Explorer 10 and Internet Explorer 11,” Microsoft explained in a short advisory.

Both Internet Explorer 10 and Internet Explorer 11 got patched during the new rollout, so make sure that you deploy the available fixes to stay on the safe side. Consumers of older Internet Explorer versions are recommended to download the new Flash Player version manually as soon as possible.
