Finnish airline Finnair is planning to make the switch to Windows 8 as well, as it tries to provide better in-flight entertainment services to its passengers, using Microsoft’s newest operating system.

According to a report by Fox Business, the company has already confirmed a two-month trial of wireless Internet and tablets for in-flight entertainment but, sadly for Microsoft, Finnair won’t adopt the Surface.

Instead, the Finnish company will go for the HP ElitePad tablet, a different Windows 8 device that shall be used to allow passengers to watch TV shows and movies, listen to music and play games.

The airline operator will most likely develop a Windows 8 application as well, but such plans are yet to be confirmed. Microsoft hasn’t yet released a comment on the matter, but the Redmond-based giant is most likely excited with such plan.
