Valve statistics show that gamers are slowly embracing Windows 8

There’s no doubt that Windows 7 remains the number one operating system in the world, but according to new statistics, the modern Windows 8 is slowly increasing its market share as well.

Data provided by Valve’s gaming platform Steam reveals a 0.99 percent increase for the 64-bit version of Windows 8, which has now become the second top OS choice among gamers.

At this point, Windows 8 64-bit has a Steam share of 15 percent, while the same version of Windows 7 continues to lead the charts with 51.41 percent.

The 32-bit edition of Windows 7 is third with 12.83 percent, followed by Windows XP with 6.96 percent and Windows Vista 64-bit with 4.47 percent. The 32-bit flavor of Windows 8 is well behind with 0.79 points, while Ubuntu 12 has only reached a 0.18 percent share.
