Analysts have predicted that Windows 8 would only take off in 2013, together with the PC industry, and the latest data released by market researchers in the United States confirms that Windows 8 adoption remains fairly low for the time being.

Ad network Chitika said that Windows 8 has climbed to a market share of 2.5 percent in early December, but the operating system has quickly declined to 2.3 percent.

According to figures provided by Net Applications, Windows 8 has recorded a market share of 1.56 percent during the week of December 16, while Windows 7 remains the clear leader of the OS world with 45.57 percent.

Microsoft hasn’t provided any official figures on Windows 8, but the company initially said that it had managed to sell a total of 40 million copies in just one month.

Well,if ine actaully trust what Microsoft says about the sale for W8 being 40 million,it may be worth confirming that when their accounts are published.
Somehow,I think that it will turn out to have been a 'typo',the real figure being those that it gave away.
For Microsoft to have produced a lemon, then say that they have no intention of re-introducing the Start Button in Windows 9, is just plain ridiculous & stupid.
People will stick with W7 or migrate from XP-W7,when Microsoft then uses the usual scareware tactics of saying that these 2 OS's have 'security' issues,as they have said about XP,they will be ignored & rightly so.
