Taiwanese PC manufacturer Acer is one of the companies that heavily criticized Microsoft and its new Windows 8 operating system, saying that the new software failed to boost the collapsing PC market after launch.

While he also blasted Microsoft’s efforts in the hardware market, the company’s President, Jim Wong, is now seeing a growing demand for Windows 8 computers, with the same ascending trend expected to continue in the coming months.

According to a report by WSJ and published by NASDAQ.com, Wong applauded Microsoft’s efforts to support Windows 8 adoption, but he refused to provide more information on how exactly the Redmond-based technology giant is helping PC makers in this regard.

Recent reports have suggested that Microsoft is offering major Windows 8 discounts to OEMs as it tries to bring cheaper devices to the market and thus increase sales of computers running its new operating system.
