Microsoft confirmed the beginning of the Windows 8 preordering program a few minutes ago, but the company has also revealed some very interesting bits about the upcoming package of the operating system.
The
Windows 8 Pro DVD will feature one of five available vibrant illustrations, with all of them published on the official
Facebook account of the company.
What’s more, the package is made of paper-based material, obviously with the exception of the DVD disc itself.
“This allowed us to make an 80% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and fossil fuel consumption,” Microsoft said in a blog post.
Last but not least, the package weight has been reduced by 41 percent, so in case you wish to carry it around, you won’t risk any hernia surgery.
