Figures provided by market researcher Net Applications show that Windows 8 increased its market share by only 0.32 points during the month of July 2013, but stats offered by Valve show that Microsoft’s latest OS is gaining more fans every day.

Data collected from the Steam platform indicate that the 64-bit version of Windows 8 is now powering 13.34 percent of computers running the gaming app, while the 32-bit flavor is only deployed on 0.78 percent of these systems.

Windows 7 64-bit remains the clear leader of the rankings with 52.39 percent, but the 32-bit version is quickly losing ground, dropping to 12.52 percent.

Windows 8 64-bit has managed to post an increase of 1.10 percent from the month before, while Windows 7 lost no less than 1.16 percent of its users.
