As it was rather expected by both hardcore gamers and enthusiasts, Asus shelves the Windows 8-oriented drivers for one of the latest and mightiest boards to date: the Maximus V Extreme.

It looks like there's little that can stand in the way of the Maximus V Extreme owners, no matter whether we're thinking about sheer performance or overclocking opportunities. If you're the kind of gamer sworn to pushing the boundaries of your computer's spec to the limit, this board is the one for you.

The Maximus V Extreme has been designed to run with both second and third Intel Core CPUs and can accommodate up to 32 BG of 2800+ DDR3 memory. With 4-way SLI/ CrossFireX capabilities, there's little you could be asking from your game visuals that Maximus V Extreme could not deliver.

Digital power control and complete overclocking solutions thanks to the OC Key take performance to the next level while letting you overclock your board easier and, more important, safer. Driver downloads for Windows 8 are available, together with all the XP and Windows 7 software. Download the Asus Maximus V Extreme drivers.
