The BUILD Windows conference, an event focused on Windows 8, Microsoft’s next generation Windows client, has already sold out. Users that make their way to the registration page of the website set up for the BUILD Windows will now be greeted with the following message: “BUILD Online Registration is Sold Out.” (via Mary-Jo Foley)

The event is scheduled to start on September 12, 2011 with the pre-conference session, followed by the actual conference, September 13–16. A plethora of developers are expected to converge in Anaheim, California in mid-September.

At the time of this article, Microsoft had yet to share any details about BUILD, with the Agenda part of the site offering the same information as when the conference was first announced.

However, the software giant was little shy of publicizing BUILD as THE place to get insight into Windows 8, the successor of Windows 7.

Various sources also indicate that the Redmond company will share Windows 8 bits with BUILD participants, although it’s unclear just what attendants will get.

Microsoft could offer either a pre-Beta, Milestone 3 (M3) Community Technology Preview (CTP) of Windows 8, or the fully-fledged Beta. It’s extremely hard to tell, especially since the company is not breathing a single word on the matter.

The only details Microsoft did share about Windows 8 at BUILD are displayed prominently on the home page of the conference’s site, including: “In 1995, Windows changed the PC. BUILD will show you that Windows 8 changes everything.”

This is a reference to the fact that Windows 8 will be in no way limited to traditional PCs and notebooks, as well as netbooks.

Because of the newly introduced support for Systems on a Chip, including ARM architectures, Windows 8 will be pre-installed on a variety of next generation form factors, including Tablet PCs / slates.
