Among the new options to be implemented into Windows 8.1, there’s also a dedicated tool that will allow users to launch Metro apps in new windows.

At least, that’s what McAkins Online writes after testing a recently leaked build of the operating system.

It appears that the Metro apps can now be launched in a new window, just in case you wish to open multiple instances of the same tool. Of course, this option can be accessed by right-clicking the live tile of the Metro app.

Microsoft hasn’t provided any official details on this, but expect more information to be provided in just a few weeks at the BUILD developer conference.

Windows 8.1 is also expected to bundle plenty of Start screen customization options, including new color settings and tweaks to use the desktop wallpaper as a background.
