Microsoft has recently announced that it will release eight different security updates next week as part of its monthly Patch Tuesday cycle, with Windows 8.1 to be one of the operating systems to receive improvements.

While it’s not yet clear whether Microsoft has found some other security flaws in its operating system or it’s just trying to fix bugs reported by consumers, all Windows 8.1 patches are dubbed “critical,” the highest security rating used by Redmond at this point.

Just like all the other patches, Windows 8.1’s security fixes will be delivered via Windows Update, which means that no user input will be necessary.

Microsoft hasn’t yet released any details on this month’s Patch Tuesday cycle, as the company wants to keep all details secret until the released fixes are delivered to users, of course in an effort to keep users and their data away from any public exploit.
