Windows 8.1 will pack a wide array of improvements for the Windows 8 platform, including some new options for the built-in Metro Camera app.

According to a new collection of screenshots that got leaked a few hours ago, the Camera app will most likely get a new design to make it easier to use on Windows RT and Windows 8.1 tablets.

In addition, the new layout allows users to quickly toggle between video and camera modes, while also providing them with options to change the timer needed to take pictures automatically.

A “Send feedback” button is also available at the bottom of the screen, so Microsoft is most likely planning to release even more improvements to these new Metro apps in the coming months.

As usual, take all of these with a pinch of salt until the tech giant releases the first and only public beta of the next Windows release.
