The Search Charm will no longer take up the whole screen

The recently leaked Windows 8.1 build 9374 revealed a new change that Microsoft is planning to introduce to the search option, as the company is reportedly working on a major upgrade for this particular utility.

A short tweet posted by Windows4Live confirmed that Windows 8.1 would most likely change the search option’s behavior, as the window used to display the results might no longer eat up the entire screen.

At this point, the Windows 8 Search Charm automatically takes users to the Start Screen as soon as they start typing, with no configuration option that would allow them to stick to the desktop.

Of course, keep in mind that it’s still a bit too early to talk about the features that could be implemented in the final version of Windows 8.1 but, as far as users are concerned, several improvements to the search tool are clearly needed.
