A new round of statistics indicate that Internet Explorer 11 is quickly gaining traction, with more and more users deciding to at least give a try to Microsoft’s newest browser.

Internet Explorer 11 is currently installed on 3.27 percent of desktop computers worldwide, including here machines running both Windows 8.1 and Windows 7.

The browser launched in June 2013 together with the public beta version of Windows 8.1 and increased its market share from only 0.02 percent in July to no less than 1.49 percent in October.

While the 3.27 percent market share is not impressive at the first glance, it’s actually a sign that more users could soon update their systems to run the new Internet Explorer 11.

On Windows 8.1, the application is available in two different flavors, in both Metro and on the desktop, while Windows 7 users are stuck to the latter version.
