14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft could introduce a new security option in the upcoming Windows 8.1 release that would allow consumers to use fingerprints instead of passwords.
While such an option isn’t quite new, evidence that fingerprint support could be implemented in Windows 8.1 has been found in the leaked build 9385 that reached the web approximately one month ago.
WinBeta writes that this particular tool isn’t working for the time being, but since support has already been implemented, it’s very likely to see it available in the stable version of Windows 8.1.
Microsoft will officially introduce the first public beta of Windows 8.1 next month at the BUILD developer conference, while the full product is expected later this year.
In addition to this new security improvement, Windows 8.1 is also expected to bring plenty of changes concerning both the UI and the overall performance of the OS.
