MSDN and TechNet subscribers received the Windows 8.1 Update last week just after the debut of the BUILD 2014 developer conference, while everyone else got it yesterday via Windows Update.

It appears however that Microsoft is now reoffering Windows 8.1 Update to MSDN subscribers, as the company has included some new files bringing a number of changes to the operating system.

As WindowsITPro reports, the KB2919355 released by Microsoft and shipped to all users today includes KB2934018 as well, which brings some changes that were not available in the MSDN and TechNet builds.

The new patch has approximately 125 MB in size and is being delivered to everyone already running Windows 8.1 Update, while the other users who are still on Windows 8.1 get the standard KB2919355 pack.

Windows 8.1 Update brings plenty of changes to the modern operating system, including options to pin Metro apps to the taskbar and a revised Start screen that makes it easier to shut down or reboot the computer. In addition, Metro apps are now coming with their own windows, but also with title bars and minimize and close buttons to make it easier for those still using a mouse and a keyboard to control them.
