If RTM is ready, the update is expected to reach the web soon

As I’ve reported to you yesterday, Windows 8.1 Update 1 is ready to hit RTM, which means that Microsoft could send the final build to OEMs for the latest testing purposes in the coming days.

If this is indeed true, Windows 8.1 Update 1 could leak in RTM form by the end of February, so many users might actually get their hands on the update a lot earlier.

Windows 8.1 Update 1 is expected to be shipped to consumers in April, as Microsoft reportedly plans to deliver it via Windows Update as a free download for all running Windows 8.1.

The leaked build, on the other hand, is very likely to come in the form of an MSU file that would require all previously rolled-out Windows 8.1 updates, so make sure you’re installing all patches to prepare your computer for the upcoming release.
