A new build of Windows 8.1 Update 1, which claims to be the RTM Escrow version created by Microsoft, has reached the web only a few days ago, but it turns out that the company has completed development of another version.

A so-called Windows 8.1 Update 1 RTM Escrow 2 has reportedly been compiled on February 11, but no download links are currently available in case you wish to give it a try.

The package is still being delivered as an MSU file for 64-bit computers, so installation should again be pretty simple for all users, regardless of their previous experience.

That’s actually the purpose of the upcoming update, as Microsoft plans to ship it to users via Windows Update as an optional download and thus make installation a breeze, as many people actually experienced issues with Windows 8.1 and the store download.
