The Sports app available on Windows 8.1 is one of the tools powered by Microsoft’s Bing search engine, so the software giant is trying to keep it fully up to date with new features and bug fixes.

Today, the company has introduced a new version of the app, and although no details have been provided on this fresh build, it’s safe to assume that it brings fixes and performance improvements for both desktops and tablets.

The application works on PCs and tablets running either Windows 8.1 and Windows RT, so in case you’re using a Surface RT, for instance, the update should be there in the store waiting for your download.

“The Sports app, powered by Bing, makes it easy for you to keep up with all the sports, teams, and players you care about. Designed for Windows, the Sports app puts control at your fingertips. Swipe through the app to get an overview of the top headlines, scores, schedules, standings, statistics, and much more across all major sports. Personalize the experience so you can track the leagues, teams, and players you are most interested,” the updated app description writes.

All in all, this update should clearly come in handy to consumers who are already using it, so download the Sports app for Windows 8.1 manually if you don’t see the update in the store at this point.
