It appears that some of the updates are breaking down apps

Many users are already running Windows 8.1 RTM, not only because Microsoft has published the ISOs on MSDN and TechNet, but also because they got leaked a few weeks ago.

Even though Windows 8.1 RTM can be easily activated and used as a full-time OS on productivity machines, it turns out that some of the updates released by Microsoft are actually breaking down Metro apps on a number of computers.

McAkins Online writes that the latest Video and Music updates released for RTM devices were actually supposed to be installed on those running the Preview version, so both apps might be broken down in case you try to deploy the new versions.

Microsoft hasn’t yet issued a statement on this, but given the fact that it still continues work on 8.1 RTM, it’s only natural to expect such issues until the operating system officially goes live in October.
